January 2023 Month in Review

Long time no see for those that have been following for awhile now! And hello to anyone new here!

I decided in December 2022 that I would post more and decided on doing a monthly blog post. January is the month of New Years Resolutions, and I thought I would share both vesions that I have.

Writer New Years Resolutions

  • Work on the 3rd book in my series, Learning To Love Again (I don’t know as of now if it will be the last in the series or not. Depends no how I feel when I get further into the project. As of writing this out I’m only on the second chapter of the first draft.
  • Work on the new project that I had an idea for. Which is in fact inspired by another piece that I’ve already worked on. I created a mock cover for it in canva just for fun. (because I have no skills with cover art design at all, I leave that to the professionals, WIP Cover is at the bottom)
  • Post more onto TikTok, which I have been as of the new year posting about my everyday routine as a writer.
  • Write a month blog/newsletter for each month!
  • Morning pages, one page or three. However much I need in the morning. It’s usually stream of consciousness writing. Sometimes me writing about the day ahead or the day previous. Whatever it is, usually helps work the cobwebs out of my brain in the morning before I get started on writing for the day.
  • write everyday. whether it be journaling my morning pages, working on the third book in my series, my new project or even fanfic (yes I write fanfic which I’ve been basing my books off of because its a fun process of turning something like that into a fictionalized version 😄). A little progress everyday and I’m confident I will have two completed drafts for two different projects by the end of the year.

Personal New Years Resolutions

  • Get Rid of old things (which refers to old makeup especially, because let’s be real here. As a writer I have a lot of notebooks in my collection as well as books and I know I wouldn’t be able to part with them at all!) But since the pandemic I didn’t wear makeup at all and it didn’t come to mind that now everything from before then is now expired. So slowly I’ve been working to declutter my makeup collection and stick to products that I know work for me and my skin type
  • morning pages everyday (or close to it) overlaps with the writer New Years resolution. But it is just helpful for me personally to start the day journaling, get everything out on the page.

Favorite Song Of The Month (or really the one that I’ve had on repeat the most 😆)

  • As of writing this and looking back at my spotify the most listened to song that I replayed was Just Pretend by Bad Omens , which I blame TikTok on. Because I heard it as a snippet and then found it on Spotify. And now I’m slowly working my way into listening to more of their songs. Ironically though I listened to it on repeated as I’ve been working on my new project that I’ve started, A Deal With A Demon (Infernal Love Series Book #1)

Fiction Books Of The Month

  • From Blood And Ash Series by Jennifer Armentrout, currently on the last book of the series in this reread. Because I read these books last year. And wanted to revisit them because I love the story. I’ll be definitely going onto the spin-off prequel series A Shadow In The Ember after I complete this series.
  • A Touch Of Darkness series by Scarlett St. Claire, this is another reread of the series. Hades & Persephone Greek mythology and smut. What more about you want? Just rereading the series because I got the most current book of the series (the Hades POV) and I knew I would have to reread it before reading the newer book to reacquaint myself with the series. Love the series and I just love all of her books.

Indie Author Book of The Month

  • Don’t have one for this month but I will be sure to share with you any that I come across. If you have any suggestions please don’t hesitate to share any indie books that you love and would like for me to read! I’m up for reading any genre!

Non-Fiction Books Of The Month

  • none as of yet, but if I do in any month I will list them here

Projects that I’ll Be Working On This Year

  • Already mentioned earlier is Learning To Love Again‘s Third Book in the series. It’s untitled as of now so I’m just calling it LTLA #3
  • A Deal With A Demon (Infernal Love Series Book #1), inspired by another project that I’ve worked on. It will be a dark romance, paranormal romance, supernatural romance. So far with a description for the project is as follows: Human woman plays with a Ouija Board during a storm with a friend and unknowingly doesn’t end the game and unleashes a demon. What could possibly go wrong. And I created a WIP cover as well for it on canva when I was feeling like making one. More so for fun but does have the vibes of the project.

That’s it for this month! If you guys had any New Years Resolutions that you wanted to share comment them! As well as if you have any indie author recommendations as well, any genre! I’ll be making a list that I’ll slowly work through throughout the year to read!
